Jo Ann Syron

I received my degree in Art Education from the University of Oregon in 1985. For the next 18 years I taught high school, in Lane County, Oregon.

For the last 16 years I have been involved in the fusing, draping and slumping of glass because I am captivated by the uniqueness of the medium over the many others I have worked in. The diverse nature of my work can be seen when comparing my detailed glass impressionistic landscapes and seascapes to my sculptural pieces and vases that predominantly focus on the simple relationship of line, shape and color. I have brought to glass all of the various medium backgrounds with a strong emphasis on design. My love of art and the Pacific Northwest have formed into a passion that can be seen in the pieces I create.

My work is currently showing at the New Zone Gallery in Eugene, Oregon.
